Dustin Weatherby is a political professional with a broad and extensive background across the political spectrum.
Born and raised on his family’s fifth-generation cattle ranch nestled in the heart of California’s Gold Country of Calaveras County. Dustin grew up with an affinity to politics and rural interests. Following high school, Dustin attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where he graduated with honors and a bachelor’s degree in political science while he was still 20 years old.
After graduating college, Dustin started his career working at a local newspaper writing articles, feature stories, and hard political investigative stories that exposed waste at a local water district. After leaving the paper, Dustin applied his communications background working as a communications intern at a Board of Equalization Board Member’s office, worked at a political fundraising firm followed by a political campaign firm where he authored several op-eds on behalf of a major California proposition on the ballot.
Dustin spends most of his free time outside of the Capital City where he enjoys hiking the Sierras, the greater outdoors, returning home to his family’s ranch. Dustin’s interests include watching historical documentaries and shows about the universe, and listening to talks about the intersection of American culture and politics.
Dustin currently resides in Sacramento.
